Creative Writing
Creative writing has always been a therapeutic outlet for me. As you can tell from this page, I tend to lean towards narratives about childhood and familial relationships. I think young protagonists can convey difficult themes and messages in a simple manner, which can often be more impactful than an older character.

This is a piece that I wrote for Creative Writing Fiction as my final project. The stories are based off of my childhood and stringing these various memories together was very powerful. I have always enjoyed writing from a child’s perspective because of the simplistic yet universally impactful nature of the stories. While I do have some of this story written in script form, I would love to eventually write the entire piece as a script maybe for a feature length film.

This piece was also written for Introduction to Creative Writing. I believe the prompt was surrounding reflection in our lives. I love this story because of the tangible, relatable nature of the characters. I think the idea of portraying a family road trip in any medium is exciting because of the possibilities of dynamics between characters. As you can probably tell by now, the theme of childhood and family are weaved throughout most of my work. I have also made a complementary film piece for this story that features found footage and portrays the emotions we feel when reflecting on complex memories.
